The Narrows (Zion National Park)

From the Temple of Sinawava, the route enters the upper end of Zion Canyon and follows the Riverside Walk beside the Virgin River, where cottonwoods, hanging gardens, weeping sandstone walls and narrowing cliffs gradually frame the canyon corridor.

At the end of the paved path, the hike continues directly in the North Fork of the Virgin River, passing into The Narrows beneath steep sculpted walls and reaching Mystery Canyon Falls, where a side canyon drops into the main gorge.

Beyond the falls, the trace follows the river upstream through the Lower Narrows, passing the Floating Rock and continuing between the Mountain of Mystery, Im lay Temple and Elephant Temple, with water-polished boulders, alcoves and sheer canyon walls defining the final section of the hike.
